About the Artist
Michael Paul is a self-taught, multi-faceted artist. His passion for art comes from deep within his heart and soul. With his unique, but very effective style, combining photography and mixed media techniques, Michael Paul’s artwork transcends your soul to another surreal world, or plane if you allow your mind to go there. Many of his pieces exude a raw, positive energy through the images created on canvas while throwing you into multidimensional worlds where ever-watching spirits dwell.
Artist Statement
Through my works, I hope, as you view them, your imagination is awakened, and your subconscious is taken for a ride on the constant, never-ending flow of creative energies. Each individual painting is essentially a “snap shot” of that constant flow. There is no thought out schematic, or plan of what is going to be laid down on a fresh new canvas. When that “snap shot” is complete, I allow my imagination to absorb and conjure up a synopsis of what it means to me, bringing it down to a few words as a title.
Hopefully after you view my individual works, you will come up with your own words of what it means to you. My works are as raw and organic as you can get. To me, my paintings are a true representation of that real time “spiritual to physical” moment. As I would be called an eccentric artist, living in the middle of nowhere for the past 30 years, I can honestly say that the only influence that I have is on the spiritual level. In the physical realm I have been blessed with peace, where the only diversion is hearing a lone coyote’s howl echoing down the valley, or hearing a crow flap its wings a quarter mile away.
With that being said, I would like to say that with every limited edition print that I sell, you as the purchaser, and a guest are invited to my farm to relax and give you the opportunity to view my upcoming and newest creations before they are released to the general public.
